Meeting announced a success.
The first meeting to be held at the Norman Jepson Hotel was today announced a major success with 40 members attending the meeting. We welcomed one of our Isle of man contingent Mike Heathcote to his very first meeting with Goldwings North West and also received a membership application from John who lives in Bolton and rides a rather nice GL1000. Steve Lapsley of Goldwings East Yorkshire reports that their meeting on Sunday went well with three interested Goldwing owners attending. In reality Steve has a far harder task starting a club from zero members than either North Wales or North West ever did. That said the good news is that there is certainly interest and the club can do nothing but grow. They are already involved with a Christmas Lights switch on event in
Jeff Thornton asks?
Jeff has asked why we are still holding our winter season monthly meetings at the same 10:00 am time slot? Good question indeed Jeff. Seeing as we are now committed to a new venue, and to have a lunch between November and March, would it be reasonable to hold the meetings at say 11:00 am so that we could finish at a sensible lunch time. North Wales AGM
This Sunday’s meeting at Goldwings North Wales is their AGM, if you remember they were the very first Federation club and they did form a few months prior to us. On the 1st February 2009, the very first meeting of what was to become Goldwings North West took place at the Swallow Hotel. Forty-seven people attended, which did come as somewhat of a very pleasant surprise, as just like with anything new, you’re never quite sure how it’s going to be received. Grandparents at last
Members Jeff and Renee are at last Grandparents, their daughter Jemma gave birth to a big bouncing baby daughter weighing in at 11lbs on Friday 6th November. The new member to the Thornton clan will be named Freya, which is Norwegian for beautiful. Congratulations from Goldwings North West
Increase in Website traffic
Visitor numbers to our website continue to increase with November 09 report showing 10,609 individual unique visits, an increase of 2306 visitors from the previous month. Interestingly we also attract visitors from other motorcycle clubs looking for information on events and ideas for run outs. We must be doing something right. Our Webmaster Nigel Mackintosh must be congratulated on producing such a clear and easy to manage internet presence and you the membership for posting and commenting on what is obviously an attractive and interesting web site.
