Suave, good-looking, charming.........(just a minute, they'll never swallow this!)........... Ok, UK Training Manager for an Aussie company, in excellent shape (round) and enjoys good times out on the bike with friends.
Hello, Good Morning and Welcome!
Especially to all our new members who have recently joined us, a significant number at this morning’s meeting at the Norman Jepson. It was really nice to see some familiar faces together with some new ones joining us for the first time.
Your Club needs YOU!
Don’t forget………if you’ve been somewhere on the ‘Wing, to a show, event or somewhere just plain nice, we need to know about it!
Don’t think you have to be David Bailey, or even Shakespeare – just a few lines or photos (or, better still, both!) to let the rest of us share in the good times and to let the world in
And please don’t forget………..
Those collecting boxes which may still be lurking, asleep and undisturbed in the cosy corner of a dark pannier (saddlebag?).
If you can bring them to either the AGM or February meeting, then we can count the cash and hopefully get someone along from the Air Ambulance to accept a nice cheque!
Cheers!
Any Christmas spirit about……?
Here’s an e-mail received recently..
“Just spoke to Dave Turvey (Goldwings North Wales) and he said your club might be able to help. I have owned a GL 1000 for 33yrs and I now want to put it back on the road. Do you have a member that might be interested in helping me to get it sorted? Last time it was running it was blowing the main fuse and the brakes were not so good. Ralph”
Overseas visitor to Goldwings NorthWest?
And just when you think things couldn’t get any better, an e-mail arrived in my in tray this morning from across the water………
Hi ,Short note to say will be at club meeting 29 November if the boat sails
Regards
Mike Heathcote
How are we doing?………..
At the risk of being accused of self-congratulations, we thought that it was time to give you an update on the state of the club so far………..
On the 1st February 2009, the very first meeting of what was to become Goldwings North West took place at the Swallow Hotel. Forty-seven people attended, which did come as somewhat of a very pleasant surprise, as just like with anything new, you’re never quite sure how it’s going to be received. Various things were decided at the
Good Luck, Dave!
Dave is now back home feeling well and looking forward to attending the meeting in October
Or to quote him recently, “The stick has been burned at the stake!!!!!!! You will not know the new me ! ,except for a couple of things which will come apparent when we come to the meeting.”
Can’t wait to see the new improved Dave v 2.0! (Ed)
Goldwings North Wales Meeting
For those planning a ride out to the Goldwings North Wales meeting next Sunday the 20th, Dave Turvey has just let me know that the meeting will now start at 09:00 that morning owing to their being rideouts after the meeting. Where to and how many, Dave didn’t say, but I’m sure we’ll be most welcome to join them.
GoldWings North West goes International (2)
Well, there certainly seems to be growing interest in us from across the water, because we now have a second Isle of Man member! And, I’m pleased to announce that there’s another trike joining the fold – at this rate, us solo riders are going to end up outnumbered, and we’ll have to start an IOM branch of Goldwings North-West!
So, a warm welcome to Michael Heathcote and his 1800 Cobra trike (and as he lives in the same town as Royce, our other IOM member, I suspect the two might already be acquainted). It’s really good to have you both on board, and hopefully, we’ll see you either over here or you could be descended on over there
.
Goldwings North West goes International (nearly!)
This morning’s post looked much the same as usual, you know, the normal mix of flyers, bills and the odd useful letter. That is until I opened a letter with the curious postmark ‘Manx Telecom’………
Inside was a completed membership form and cheque from…..
Ladies and Gents, please give a very warm welcome to our first overseas (!?) member, Royce from the Isle of Man and his GL1800 Cobra Trike!
As he says in his note, ‘Due to my location, I won’t get to many meetings, but would still like to join’.
Royce, a very very warm welcome to the club, and as for not being able to make the meetings, your location might encourage us to come and visit you! Hopefully, we may see you at the BLP later this year, but please feel free to come over anytime, as you will be made most welcome.
Longridge Field Day – 13 June
The morning of the 13th dawned dry and promising, and so eight bikes assembled at the Swallow Hotel for the run into Longridge. It was not only great to see Graham and Jacci with their Flamin’ Orange trike (which sadly went to Chipping, but couldn’t come out to play because of the horrendous conditions), but also Ted, one of our newest members and his friend on a very interesting Yamaha. On arrival at the meet point, priorities
