First Federation WingFest goes to plan.

thumbs klwf84 First Federation WingFest goes to plan. The first WingFest of the Federation has taken place, and amazingly almost everything went to plan. You would not believe what goes into an event even of this size, and don’t let’s get carried away at this early date as we only had around 60 members and visitors for the weekend, it’s not a big event by any stretch of the imagination. However the logistics of providing the bar b cue, run outs and some form of shelter on the site for the

Help for Heroes Charity Day – Bob Summers

h4hchwe108 150x150 Help for Heroes Charity Day Bob SummersSeveral members of Goldwing North West very kindly helped in supporting a charity day at my Holiday Home Caravan site in Caernarfon North Wales. We also had the support of our neighbours Goldwing North Wales during the day. The event itself was aimed at raising more money for the very popular charity “Help for Heroes”.   The 10 or so Goldwings on display certainly added to the occasion which lasted all afternoon and

Ride to Rivington Barn – Steven Fox

Rivington Barn 150x150 Ride to Rivington Barn Steven FoxAfter the meeting in the Norman Jepson most members decided to go for the “Ride in the Park”. Ian Kay and myself due to other commitments decided to follow the main group for most of the way on the motorway and then turn off at Bolton and head for Rivington Barn. Initially the traffic on the M6 was stop and go due to a 4×4 with trailer tipping over onto its side, but once we passed this obstacle the pace was set at a steady 65 mph. In total 24

Sarah’s 21st Birthday surprise – Report from Sarah

thumbs sarah086 Sarahs 21st Birthday surprise Report from SarahOn the morning of Sunday 18thof July, having been back on British soil for only a week, I was waiting nervously, cup of tea in hand, for my big 21st Birthday Surprise.

There had been many clues and hints from my family about what it was going to be, I was to put on jeans and not leggings, boots (in July) and to wear my naturally curly hair straight. So my first thought was that I was going to watch the Rugby, but then I was told

Sarah’s Birthday Surprise – Report by Ian Duxbury

Smiling like her head is about to explode. Sarah gets her Goldwing birthday surprise.I’m sure that most of you will have been keeping up to date with the latest posts, and may remember a post that I submitted asking for volunteers……this then metamorphosed into another post which, for some mysterious reason, became a posting about a run out to Matlock Bath.

Well, now the full story can be told.

Blackpool MAG Bike show – Report

View of the Art Deco Cafe and Italian gardens from the top of the clock towerIt seemed a good idea at the time to arrange for both the run out and the bike show to start from the same place, i.e. the Norman Jepson Hotel. By the time 10:00 am had arrived I could count less than a dozen Goldwings in the car park with their riders waiting to see which direction they would take. Would it be Blackpool for the MAG bike show or out toward Derbyshire for Frank’s mystery tour IV. It transpired that Graham & Sue Pinder

RBLR1000 – Report by Adrian Cresswell

thumbs rblr005 RBLR1000 Report by Adrian CresswellIt all started a few months ago when I registered to take part in the above event over the weekend of the 19-20 Jun. I had read the reports and experiences of others who had done this event the year before and I thought I want some of that and while doing it can help raise monies towards the Poppy Appeal, well after all, I am a Royal British Legion Riders Branch (RBLR) member, it made sense to me. Soon as the maps were posted, I

Scorton Vintage & Country Fair 2010 – Report

thumbs scorton067 Scorton Vintage & Country Fair 2010 ReportYou couldn’t have asked for better weather during this years Scorton vintage and country fair. The sunshine was constant on both days with just a few clouds to keep burnt skin at bay. Stuart, Elizabeth and William, the Dalmatian, arrived early on the Friday morning to set up camp in a suitable spot, ensuring enough room was available to receive the main camping party due later in the day. An early bird on the field, in an unrecognised

Franks Mystery Tour III – Report by Cheryl Daniel

thumbs fmtiii010 Franks Mystery Tour III Report by Cheryl DanielFour bikes met at Poplar Services Truck stop and set off at 9:40am to Stretton and then on to Stanlow for one of Frank’s short cuts – unfortunately this one was closed!! Lol. After a quick u-turn we were back on the road until Roger spotted Frank’s sat nav sent him the wrong way – again – so we waited for him to turn around and take the lead, straight on to one of Frank’s famous freshly graveled roads!! The first stop for the day was
