Blackpool Light Parade – Saturday September 4th 2010
The Eighth Annual Blackpool Illuminations GoldWing Light Parade will run on Saturday September 4th 2010 as part of a residential weekend of biking and social activities. Accommodation for the 2010 Light Parade is available in a group of hotels, B&Bs and apartments along and near to Warwick Crescent on South Shore Promenade. It’s just South of the Pleasure Beach. The Crescent is set back from the Promenade roadway and there is an area of lawn too. These provide space we can use for Event activities over the weekend. Off street parking is available behind the hotels for all participants but the roadway of the Crescent and the area of lawn in front of it will be part of the Event venue for the weekend. (The participating Hoteliers are supporting us in our request to the Council to close the Crescent for our use during the weekend.) Full details of pricing and hotels can be found on the Blackpool Light Parade Web Site

Ian, Saturday would be the better day to visit Blackpool, especially with the kids, as that evening we will be conducting the light parade from 8:00 pm travelling both ways up and down the promenade. You will also be able to find us on the North facing side of South Pier between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. As a last resort we will be at the Warwick Hotel or various hotels locally just South of the Pleasure Beach. If you leave it till Sunday most of us will be packing up and heading home and you could miss us. Saturday is certainly the best day.

Hi to everyone. After chatting to a lot of you at Thundersprint, both Shirl and I decided we would do the Blackpool trip. We have not yet joined the club , we intend to. We have booked into the Warwick , so looking forward to it very much. Nearly never made it though, some clown ran into the wing while I was in a shop ! No idea what he was thinking of , had new mirror come yesterday, fitted it last night. Still a couple of things to do , but it looks ok , cant come to a wing do if its not up to scratch. See you all at Blackpool, we plan to arrive friday early afternoon.

Looking forward to meeting you both. If this is your first light parade your in for a real treat. Make yourself known and if you really want to get involved volunteer for something over the weekend. Its a real baptism of fire but you don’t half get to meet people quick. Glad to hear you intend joining Goldwings North West at some stage. As long as your wing is up to scratch that is. See you Friday.

Hi to everyone. Shirley and myself had a fantastic time at Blackpool, it was our first time. We met a lot of people and made many new friends. The whole experience was something we would not have missed. A particular thank you to the lads at the rear of the convoy, my battery gave up , they were soon there to get us up and running again. Boy, was I knackered after the run ! Phew, had to have a few pints, think I was de-hydrated ! My excuse anyway. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in the near future. Once again, thank you everyone, brilliant.
Les & Shirley.
