Border City Steam Fair
Ride up to Carlisle leaving from Forton Services M6 north bound for 8:30 am departure.
The steam fair is held annually at Rickerby Park in Carlisle a lovely riverside setting, which for those of you who don’t know Carlisle it is within walking distance of the city centre and offers easy access to and from the M6. It is held in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance, the Eden Valley Hospice and also the Eden House Children’s Hospice which we think you will agree are all worthy causes. We have a working arena for exhibits rather than a structured parade. There will be another ring for demonstrations and displays such as Flyin’Ryan the motorcycle stunt show. We also have entertainment on each night consisting of bands/disco. All exhibits are welcome including steam, cars, motorcycles, tractors, collections, models , military etc. There will be plenty of trade stands and auto jumble as well.
This will be our first visit to “Border City Steam Fair“. There is free camping for tents, caravans and motorhomes at the event site for those exhibiting their Goldwing, but once again you need to complete an application form prior to the event. You can download the entry form here.

Looking forward to this new event, it’s the same weekend as one we normally attend but decided after last year not to attend again. (Mudfest) Let’s hope this is the start of an annual visit to be enjoyed by all.
