Goldwings North Wales display for RNLI – Invite

RNLI Lifeboat 150x150 Goldwings North Wales display for RNLI InviteThanks again for all your hard work last weekend at the Federation WingFest - Joanna and I had a great time. I think I got some great pictures too. I know it’s your meeting this Sunday, but nevertheless I’d like to invite your members to join us at one or both of our Static Displays this weekend, as the weather forecast is looking very un-Bank-Holiday-like!

1. Static display at Rhyl RNLI Open Day – Sunday August 29th We recently received a formal request from Rhyl RLNI to help them again- as we did last year – by exhibiting our bikes at their Open Day, which is this coming Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. Here is what they say about the event:

Rhyl RNLI Poppit 300x300 Goldwings North Wales display for RNLI Invite“Welsh dragon spitfire display at 1400, Army Red Devils parachute team display at 1600, many other static displays, dodgems, etc. Also coincides with the council’s “Fun in the Sun” event in the events arena next to the boathouse (Loads of famous bands and artists playing and singing all day live). Fire, police, ambulance, also attending. Appearances by Stormy Stan all day. Good day’s outing for all the family.”

Last year, there was only Alun’s 1500 and my 1800 (as you can see here:  http://bit.ly/c3KYl3 ), but we still managed to raise quite a bit of money for the RNLI by the usual trick of charging people for sitting on our wonderful bikes! We have been allocated a display space right beside the lifeboat again, I believe. Access to it is via the gated road which runs behind the bowling green, as shown on this map:  http://bit.ly/bUgovt

I plan to leave The Chase at 10am, if anyone fancies riding there with me. If not, I hope to see you there.

2. Static display at Hoylake RNLI Open Day – Monday August 30th

Our eye-catching static displays are obviously becoming quite famous, because we have also received a request from Hoylake RLNI to help them at THEIR Open Day too – and it is this coming MONDAY. Here is what they say about the event:

“The event will take place between 1000 and 1630. It’s best that the bikes are onsite prior to this. It is the intention to site you at either the northern or southern end of the promenade to allow for easier access. The event is well catered for – there are the usual hamburger/hot dog etc. stands. The day will consist of a series of Air Displays – the timetable is as follows: 1200 Wing walkers, 1400 Spitfire, 1530 Twister Duo, 1615 Spitfire farewell display. The displays will be taking place over the beach directly adjacent to the promenade. The event is well known throughout the area, so there is normally around 30-40,000 persons in attendance.” You can also find more info here: http://bit.ly/93gg2g and here: http://bit.ly/2Avlij

Finally, here is a map showing how to find the Lifeboat House (which wewill be very near, by the sound of it): http://bit.ly/9iX6U9

I plan to leave The Chase at 9am, if anyone fancies riding there with me. If not, I hope to see you there.

  1. Nigel, both of these events have been read out at todays meeting. You may get a couple of takers, unfortunately I wont be one of them, decided to give me display lights a tweak prior to the light parade. Trust you have a good day out.
