Federation at Kirkby Lonsdale 20-23 August
The Federation of United Kingdom Goldwing clubs, of which Goldwings North West is a member, are hosting a friendly weekend of Goldwings, ride outs and entertainment. The venue is the Rugby Club at Kirkby Lonsdale. This venue has a long term relationship with biker clubs who use the facilities of the site during the Rugby closed season. Last year we held a very successfull weekend culminating in a bar b cue and several ride outs throughout the area. This is a beautiful site with stunning views across the valley with the local town of Kirkby Lonsdale less than 5 mins walk by the river. There are facilities for camping, caravans and motorhomes, plus b&b / hotel accomodation in the town. In fact accomodation of every type. Price for camping at the Rugby site will be £6.00 per unit per night, regardless of it being a tent or motorhome or how many people you have in them. Excellent value for money. Keep an eye on this post for changes as the event develops.
Latest News: The Rugby Club’s First Fifteen have a match on the Saturday afternoon, which will not interfere with our Event but we will be welcome to watch. The Club are happy for us to bring our dogs with us (i.e. our four legged pets) to the Event although of course they ask that owners clean up after them. Entertainment will be laid on in the Club Bar on Friday evening and we will have our own BBQ on the Saturday. Campers may stay on until Wednesday or even Thursday morning if they wish to extend the weekend into a camping holiday (so you can stay on until you travel South for the Treffen if you are going there) and touring rides of the lakes and surrounding area will be laid on each day for those who wish to join them.

The family have something cooking – not sure what yet but me other fellow cooks in this household of mine are up to something nice………….but not sure what, have to take endless taste testing until we get it right.

We wont be bringing the bike. We had such a good time last year walking in and around the town. Theres plenty to do on foot over the weekend. I also know where there is an excellent cheese and olive shop plus Kirkby Lonsdale has its own chocolate mine and pit head shop for the ladies to explore.
