Ian

I assume we responded to Ralph with our contact details. We haven't heard from him since, which after the offers of help, is a bit strange.

Ralph if you are reading this then pick up the baton, there is a wealth of knowledge within the club and I'm sure several members are more than happy to get your GL1000 back on the road.

Hi,

I think that Ralph mentioned he was top of Southport area. That was why I suggested that GNWest members might be closer than our members (and there is more technically minded members in your club!).

Hi Ian & Ralph,

I wouldn't say I'm a afficianado, but I do know a thing or two about the early GL1000's and I would like to offer what assistance I can. The main fuse blowing could be lots of things, I had it happen to me due to a chaffered wire in the left hand console, also the connection to the solenoid could cause problem too. rectifer problems are common also. As far as the brakes, they were not the best stoppers. Sticking cylinders, leaking hoses or bleed nipples, old fluid. Goodridge stainless steel hoses make a big difference in making the brakes feel more direct and increase the pressure at the calipers. I hope this helps.
