New home for Goldwings NorthWest
Having now outgrown our original venue, the time had come to seek a new home, and last Sunday’s meeting saw us assembled at the Samlesbury Memorial Hall just off the M6.I’m very pleased to report that the members attending were more than happy with what they found, and as I said in previous postings, were surprised to find that what they expected to find in no way matched the facilities available.
Excited discussions and suggestions as to potential events and opportunities soon began to spring up as Members realised the wider scope of things now available to us with this relocation. All I can say is Watch this Space!
You should all have received an email from John on this topic by now, but just in case…..
Take J31 of M6 (North or Southbound) as your starting point, turn EAST towards Blackburn on A59 and continue uphill to the newly constructed, traffic-light controlled roundabout (adjacent to our former meeting venue “The Swallow Hotel”) with A59 Blackburn New Road (A677). Here, go completel6y around the roundabout, effecting a 360 degree turn to head back the way you just came (now heading West to pass the Esso Garage) . Immediately after the garage take the left turn into Cuerdale Lane ( not the road running behind the garage!) and find “The Memorial Hall” in 200 metres on the right (note Way In and Way Out of extensive Car park).
Our next meeting there will be on the 25th March, starting at 11 am. Tea and coffee will be available (just remember to wash your cup up after!)
See you there!

What an excellent venue Salmesbury Memorial Hall turned out to be, audio visual facilities, great for those winter meetings when a guest organisation could visit us to give us a talk or presentation with pictures or videos or even for us to be able to show our own club events by way of stills or videos. Good kitchen and brewing up facilities, easy to get to location, plenty of parking, field at the side that may be useful for a club open day or BBQ. Excellent toilet facilities. What more could we ask for, certainly ticks an awful lot of boxes in my book.
