Trikes and the Chairman’s Curse………
Those of you who went on the Sunday Dinner Dales run last year may remember a little incident where our then Chairman, Bob, had a small incident with Dave Bayliss’s trike…For those of you who weren’t there, Bob had hitched a lift on the back of Dave’s trike down to where the rest of us were waiting. Things were going well until the dismount, when Bob lost his footing and suddenly disappeared from view. This was bad enough, but in his descent, Bob had instinctively grabbed for support and hung on for grim death. As his chosen point of support turned out to be the radio aerial, it ended up pointing not up, but at a distinctly odd angle off to the side. Much apologizing followed, all of which was taken in very good part by Dave & Toni. Luckily, Pete Rowe managed to return the aerial to a more normal position, and no lasting harm ensued.
Fast forward to today at the Railway Station, where lots of snow had fallen onto a lovely hidden slippery bed of cobbles……..where I drove in to a full car park except for one space next to a rather nice silver Saab belonging to Dave & Toni. Turning into the space went well at first until my car suddenly decided that it much preferred to go straight on and resulted in our bouncing off Dave’s bumper. Yet once more, your Chairman was left to apologise and pray that it wasn’t too bad!
As things turned out, all was well and no lasting injuries sustained………..but I’m sure that Dave will be putting an Chairman Exclusion Zone around all his vehicles for at least the first few months of next year!

Can I propose in the next meeting in any other business – the chairman ALLWAYS comes and parks up first!!

I saw said incident, and have to say, it was done most gracefully, it was like dancing on ice!!!

Oooooh, Our chairman dancing on ice. That would be a sight worth seeing, I would pay good money for that. I hope everyone realises that things come in 3′s. Give him plenty of space for the forseeable future.
