Coast Riders Cafe
Ted had heard about “The Coast Riders Café, a newly opened venue which was within 5 miles of Ted’s house so we thought, why not, let’s go and check it out, not only for ourselves, but for all club and federation members or anyone else for that matter reading/visiting this website as a possible ride out or point of interest to bikers in general. Situated just outside Blackpool “The Coast Riders Café”, is
a new venue which has been open since June 2010. It is owned by Paul and Carol who are both keen biker’s themselves. Paul told me whilst riding about the Blackpool area on his Harley-Davidson together with his wife they had found it hard to find a place that catered for biker’s and therefore when the opportunity arose they both jumped at the chance to create,
what can only be described as a fantastic reproduction of a retro 1960’s classic drive-to diner. The facilities are spacious, clean and well thought out. The atmosphere is perfect and there was no feeling of being out of place even though the theme did tend to lean towards Harley owners. We were made most welcome and as Paul pointed out, bikers are bikers whatever they ride, we’re all one big family. As you can see from the photos the diner area is ample, so me and Ted decided to order something to eat. The prices are very fare, for example,
an all day big breakfast is only £4.95 and the food is cooked to perfection. The portions are on the large size and excellent value for money. Obviously the management had thought of everything. The Bar which adjoined the Diner via the main entrance has everything a person would want, full selection of
drinks, both alcoholic and soft, plenty of seating, a pool table, a quiet area with TV and obviously ablutions too. For smokers there is even a covered area next to the main entrance with tables and chairs, so everyone is catered for.
Continuing outside there is plenty of room to park hundreds of bikes and there is also a large field available for camping which has its own toilet block too. To be honest we could not fault the place and thoroughly enjoyed our time there chatting to others and generally having a good laugh. OK, we did show off the Goldwing’s lit up before we departed and we also left a good impression to other customers who came out to admire them, it’s got to be done and yes we will be going again sometime but maybe in a bigger group. If you’d like more info contact Paul. The address is : Wimbourne Coast Riders Café, Cropper Road. Blackpool. FY4 5LB. Tel: 07970 452475. Click here for a Google Map.

This café really is a find. Its a bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Suggest you click on the google map link in the main post, but if you go to Lytham St Annes on Monday its on the way there. The café is very spacious and the bar facilities next door are excellent. Its set up as a typical 60s bikers café with duke box, snooker table and a fabulous menu. Nigel would even like it as the music wasn’t loud at all. Carole even went to the trouble of making me a sandwich which certainly wasn’t on the menu.
I commend this venue to the house.
