Got an idea for you. Wash the bike with simonez car wash in the bucket about 1/4 bottle in hot water - wash well and wash off with cold water, then use turtle wax ice liquid polish it WORKS GREAT. Eddy and me did trike and its come up really well. If not bring your bike round for me and eddy to sort.

A week on and I have washed the bike 3 times up to now and she has only just stopped streaking white lines from the sand and the salt that was collected on Saturday afternoon on the prom!

Didnt we have some fun!! 153 bikes was amazing seeing as we were told by different folk that they had been told that it was cancelled this year and they only found out at the last minute that it wasnt, guess we forget that not everyone has a computer at home, maybe next year we need to look at some advertising in the bike mags?

Well done everyone, its all that came that made the weekend a success, and to the organisers well done too I know this year there were a few hickups along the way but you did a fine job with your irons!!

i too was in the parade again this year and it was very good, very sad that pontins will be no-more lets hope the the light parade will continue year after year, just a let down at gynns square as there was no police there to manage the traffic but as the parade is a crowd puller you would think the council would help in closing the prom for 1 hour as they did it for the pushbike riders on the tuesday for two hours but hope twenty ten light parade is going to go ahead

Well, there it was and it's gone. What an excellent weekend we've had. There were afew hickups with police and entertainment but it certainly did not spoil anything. The crowds loved us as usual, but there seemed to be more of them, they waved us through all the 14 miles that we covered upto Gynn square and back to pontins, I thought it worked better without the police escort because every year they've escorted us they've 'cocked' it up, it was alot more relaxed this time. It was so nice to see the people who come year after year and to see lots of new faces too. The security guy at Pontins counted us out of the gate and it came to 153 goldwings, that was amazing. Along with lots of others, I spent the whole time on a high, and it was'nt just because we were presented with our first beautiful little grandaughter on saturday, although I was and am still elated. The whole of pontins was relaxed and welcoming. Wonderful weekend, let's do it again, and again, and again till we're too old. Well done guys.

What a suturday me and the boy had - talk about a surf board of emotions - lets say you cannot buy on any street corner to replace how I felt going down Blackpool lights - goldwing solos/trikes lit up all going down in convoy being cheered and clapped and filmed - horns honking from bikes/cars/lorries/coaches/trams FANTASTIC!!!!! Thought the day would be ruined after pose on the prome was a bit of a washout for 3/4 of the day but it bucked up just after lunch, after a meal at pontins and a wee chat with friends went to line up for the parade your writer was third yes third. Only got the gravity of how many wings were on parade is when we went round the roundabout and met the line coming UP!! A big shout out to knutsford Honda -Thanks Guys 10/10 are you coming next year?? Thanks to ALL who made the BLP possible -you know who you are. Getting ready for next year. We truely are a United Nations of Golwings and long may it continue.

Hi Pete
Had a chat with Leonie at Pontin's recently and she reports that in the first weekend alone 40 chalets were booked by Goldwingers coming to the light parade weekend. I know that rate of bookings won't continue, but what a good start. I'm pretty sure that the event website is doing an excellent job of keeping all those interested informed of what is happening regarding bookings and how to contact Pontin's. I had no problems at all getting booked in on the number provided. Any Goldwing club or region wanting to take part in the parade will embrace the opportunity to tell all their members about it. I'm sure other clubs and regions have their own events to promote or reasons for not attending, and what they do is up to them and I wish them ever success.

In the sprit of Goldwings, is it not a very poor show for another Goldwing Club / Region, not to also promote this major Goldwing event?
Strikes me a sour grapes and that they do not have Goldwingers in their mind as all Goldwing events whoever organises them should be promoted.
Small minds.

Well I've booked with Pontins for the Light Parade for the very first time. After being an organiser for the past seven years and not normally having to go through the booking system it felt a bit strange being asked my details. No problems booking at all, the lady who booked me in was well up to speed with the special deal we had negotiated. No idea why she offered me holiday insurance though. I only live down the road, although some people may take advantage of it. Really looking forward to the weekend as always. Suggest you also book asap before the end of May deadline and take advantage of the reduced prices. Don't forget you can bring your friends and family to this weekend

Good for you Lesley, keep this up and we may appoint you club electrician. Seriously though, there are a lot of expert light mechanics in the club, if you want some help ask anyone with a well light bike. When I first started I didnt know one end of a wire from another.

Well after spending Saturday sat on cold concrete I was wanting to smack certain people with well lit bikes with a wet fish. Speaking to people before Saturday that had added a few, no strike that, if you have added extra lights there is never the term a few, lights and had been told how easy it was Barry and I set to to add a few extras to ours. I thought I was there in a purely supervisiory capacity, wrong, it turned out Barrys hands were just too large to root around under the body parts of the wing. We knew they were too big to change headlights as I have now had to change both of those bulbs for him. There is nothing in the manuel about removing body parts, of the bike that is, Barry did have his head ripped off a few times. No clues on the web re the wiring. Had heard the term plug and play, plug where though? Adding the wiring to the few extra lights the wing already had didn't work, the switch for those couldn't take anymore lights. We took the wires this way, then that, then the other. In the end Barry was sent in and I read the instructions that came with the lights. Why do men always disregard those to begin with?

Result!!!

We now have 6 pod lights and 2 strip lights fitted to the bike and they work!!

So Barry has gone to work this fine Monday morning wondering what he will find when he gets home on Friday

Papa Joe watch out, I think I have got it, and who knows, my Christmas tree can be usually seen from space, maybe the wing come September will rival it!
