Franks Mystery Tour III – Report by Cheryl Daniel
Four bikes met at Poplar Services Truck stop and set off at 9:40am to Stretton and then on to Stanlow for one of Frank’s short cuts – unfortunately this one was closed!! Lol. After a quick u-turn we were back on the road until Roger spotted Frank’s sat nav sent him the wrong way – again – so we waited for him to turn around and take the lead, straight on to one of Frank’s famous freshly graveled roads!! The first stop for the day was at the Ponderosa Café and gift shop where we all had a quick brew and chat. Bob got his camera out for a few snaps before we were back on the bikes for a short ride down horseshoe pass and into Llangollen for a lunch stop and more snaps of the lovely views and steam train. We didn’t quite make the Pontysyllte Aqueduct, but did spot the sign when leaving – maybe that’s for another day. We headed back towards Chester via the bypass (so Frank wouldn’t bump into any in-laws!) and made a pit stop at Chester services just as it started raining. Roger suggested putting waterproofs on, but some bright spark said the weather was improving. As we set off up North the rain didn’t half come down, ugh! Ah well, the good bits outweighed the bad bits and we were soon home. Thanks to everyone for yet another great day! Let’s hope the sun decides to shine on us in Scorton!!
Thanks to Cheryl for the report. Ed.

When you left Ian and me at Chester Services the weather stayed dry all the way up to the M6 and at least as far north as Charnock Richard Services, it was only then that we got the rain. Managed to get home without being too moist, those frog togs are amazing waterproofs.
Looking forward to Scorton.

Hey Frank – what are you doing bringing cute blondes onto my patch without telling me?!

That’s what I like about Frank’s runs. You maybe lost but the ride is great. Sorry to miss this but we needed a Sunday at home. We are now charged up for next Saturday . And yes we’re missing Scorton again !

Nigel – We thought you were in the Mosel, we’ll have to introduce our ‘cute blonde’ another time.

Yes Bob I know the internet is in other countries, If we had told Nigel we were going ‘on his patch’ what could he have done about it? We’ll just have to go there again with the cute blonde.
Roger, there were 2 blondes on the run and Nigel has met Karen so I presume he’s talking about Cheryl, I could be wrong, maybe he’ll tell us. Eh Nigel?
