Well,it was’nt really a secret, it all depended on the weather. It would have been a shorter ride if it was a bad day.
We met at The Swallow, picked up Graham and Jean at Forton and made the very picturesque trip to The Hartside Top Cafe for a very tastey breakfast/early lunch, the view was brill. From there we made our way to Glenridding for coffe/ice cream. We then liesurely rode through Ambleside and Grasmere, again taking in the beauty of the area running alongside the lake, then on to Keswick, where some had chips, and some were good and did’nt.
The weather was good with the sun glistening on the water as we passed through all the beautiful places as we know in the Lake District National park.
We then rode through Windermere and made our way home. 250 miles through our green and pleasant land, 7 bikes all had a wonderful day.
More of the same please.
hi just a few lines abt yesterday -fantastic drive out arrived home eventually after negotiating a crash on m6 – the lake roads were great. met an oz with a vw trike he took a load of pictures and chatted with all. going down some of those hills – kirkstone pass – ok for a solo but 4 a trike scary and hurting on the shoulders!!!! a few rain showers came but did not spoil the day some of the sights were just breath taking. taking monday off to recover but very happy many thanks for day out. sorry if trike held anyone up.
