Yes, I noticed that the majority of pictures taken of me on the receiving end of wet sponges had all recently left the hands of Dave Turvey. So much for masonic brotherhood. I will have my day.

WOW! What a fantastic site as the Goldwings rolled in across the field - I was reduced to tears of joy!
Thank you all so much for making the day complete. I can say (and this is a totally biased opinion) that your display of bikes stole the show, and although you didn't take many photos everyone enjoyed looking at them. My husband now wants a Wing - something I've been nudging him to do for years!
Anyway - to the total. We raised over £2000, there is still a bit more to come in & we have a couple of other smaller events lined up for this year & everyone wants to do the Fun Day again next - council permitting!
Many, many thanks again, God bless you all!
Keep safe, Jenny W

Looking at everyone who threw a wet sponge I think we have all got a sadistic streak. Look at Reenes face, then she slapped the wet sponge across Bobs face. Sadistic or what? Poor Jeff.

I've just uploaded 140 photos of the day to <a target="_blank "href="http://www.goldwings-northwales.org.uk/goldwings_galerie.php?dir=%2F2009%2FHelp+for+Heroes+Display+%289aug%29" rel="nofollow">the GoldWings North Wales website</a>.

I'll tell you something too - I've taken lots of photos of Dave Turvey over the years, but I've never seen any before with as much <strong>sheer, unadulterated glee</strong> on his face as those I took of him throwing wet sponges at you! Take a look – I think we roused his sadistic streak!

Its now monday morning and your writer is full of caffene and breakfast - and is feeling better enough to write another chapter in my new book about a goldwing day out. We arrived at the meeting point to a mass of wings (what time had you been there since?? the coffee tables gave it away!! haha) Wr arrived at the venue after a loverly wonder through a local housing estate following Frank and his imfamous sat nav. By the by we are seeing a house there this week with a view to purchase!! Setting up such a number of wings and trikes and combo's took a bit of thought but was duly carried out and members began the sunday morning ritual - food food coffee and a smoke (if you smoked) Me personanally watch an ice cream van park and re park for about 20 minutes - what was he after achieveing that the smoke from the bbq by him wafted from behind or the side.......I digress after a slow start the sun cam out and shade was sort cos it was getting hot not for your writer he missed last summer by having a bath!!! After a lovely repast (food for the posh readers) the events in the square began - kung fu, games, line dancing, shoot outs, tug of wars - which the gallant lads lost 2-1 well done boys training will commence for next years try soon. Finally we had a ride round the ring - your writer did his very best STIG impression with his chrome rainbow visor down (hot hot hot) Bob did a great compare job despite poor radio mike! That brought to an end a great day out for a special cause which we hope raised allot of cash.

Hi all.
What can I say? 19 bikes turned up for this worthy charity. And four members from, Goldwings North Wales, brilliant. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you all then they just kept arriving, one or two got lost but made it in the end. What a splendid sight all 19 Goldwings, Frank leading us down the wrong road,(I have to say, I did tell him to turn right) the locals must have wondered what was going on with us riding round their estate. When we finally arrived, there, in the corner was a stock! We all decided that Frank must be reprimanded and get in the stock. After a bit of huffing and puffing off he went with us all following, in he went. Wet sponges at the ready I had go first, (I did feel a little guilty but carried on anyway) 4 for £1, what good value, some followed on, poor Frank, maybe he won't take another wrong turn. Then Barry went in, yes Lesley had 4 for £1 too, as did others. Then last of all Bob went in, Jackie was first of course, then Dave, then uncle tom cobbley and all, Jackie then decided that she would go further so with Barry's help they tipped the bucket over him, then put the bucket on his head, poor Bob was dripping wet with a sponge up his back too. The locals now know how silly the members of Golwings North West and Goldwings North Wales can be. Some rode round the ring later showing their pride and joy with Bob doing the commentary, some stayed and took more photo's.
On behalf of Jenny I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for such an excellent turnout, when I hear how much was raised I will let you know on this website. Let's hope it was loads a money.
Another good day with good silly friends-excellent.
