Sunday Dinner Run Out 26 April
It was a bright sunny day as six goldwings and a trike, set out from The Swallow Hotel, the home of Goldwings North West.
Onward up the A59, bypassing Clitheroe and Skipton only to turn into the Dales at Bolton Abbey, we turned into the abbey grounds, so a group photo could be taken But the man in the hut wanted money, so we rode straight out and onward into the Dales, the weather was fantastic and it matched the views.
At the small village of Kettlewell, we stopped for a great cup of tea,if you go there don’t be put of with the requst for money at the car park, thats only for them that don’t buy any food. After a walk down by the river Peter had us on the road again.
Our next stop was the Aysgarth waterfall, where we had to leave the bikes in the pub car park,Dave decided to stay with his trike as we all walked down to the top waterfall, were we all had ice creams, at this point Bob said he would walk back up and tell Dave to come down as we had found a space for his trike,as Daves trike pulled up, Bob was seen to be lying on the floor, flat on his back, don’t tell me trikes are safer then solos, anyway Bob got up and all was well.
We then set of, our journey taking us through Hawes and passed The Ribblehead Viaduct, what a fantastic sight, and onto the Horse and Farrier at Benthem,
This pub is just out of this world, they had set a long table for all of us in the resturant, so we could all be together, and a good party was had. The meal was well cooked and served and it was all home cooked.Next weekend the Harley owners take over the complete village and all bikers are welcome to drop in and have a chat.
And we then set of back to the M6 and home, the day had been,a right good days ride, with some right good friends, but that is what bike clubs is all about.

Couldn’t agree more, great roads and scenery. Glad Ian and Lesley got into the swing of things and joined the club properly. Peter and Karen did a good job of getting everyone safely to the venue and thanks to everyone for rushing to my aid whilst falling gracefully from Dave’s trike. I have taken the pain killers and am off to bed.

the ride out was great and a new phrase was born “doing a bob” keping up with 6/7 solos on the bendy roads of yorkshire was quiet a feet of strentgh my arms are like popeyes but the meal at the end was good and well cooked.
can in future the person leading have a good sat nav cos turning a trike round in a country lane is very difficult!!
what i am saying that with the weather company and destinations and people we met made the day for toni who incidently had to go work but very happy hopes that it won’t be like that every ride out she is very tired. can the 13 become more i do hope so believe me i will carry the memory of the day for a long while to come. if there r any more goldwing trikes out there come guys if we (me and wife) can do it so can you cos the guys on 2 wheels are great company!!!!a footnote (size 12) hope the trike did not hold up you guys on solos too much

Hi Dave and Toni,I am glad that you enjoyed the first of many rides with us.Sorry you had to turn around in the small country lane, but that was because, the call came, that a call for nature was needed,I will think of that in future.
As for keeping up, don’t worry, the idea is to enjoy the moment, I do not like sat navs, unless i need to be taken to a place, on most of my ride outs I like to choose the route, wether it be right or wrong it’s more fun. Pete
