Blackpool MAG Bike show – Report

View of the Art Deco Cafe and Italian gardens from the top of the clock towerIt seemed a good idea at the time to arrange for both the run out and the bike show to start from the same place, i.e. the Norman Jepson Hotel. By the time 10:00 am had arrived I could count less than a dozen Goldwings in the car park with their riders waiting to see which direction they would take. Would it be Blackpool for the MAG bike show or out toward Derbyshire for Frank’s mystery tour IV. It transpired that Graham & Sue Pinder

5th RideSafe Rendezvous 2010

thumbs rsbs128 5th RideSafe Rendezvous 2010The 5th RideSafe BackSafe event took place on a glorious sunny day in a very different location to that previous.  The organisers played a blinder and positioned the event away from the promenade right on the main town car park opposite Blackpool Football Club.  It was situated right at the end of the motorway with lots of car park space for bikes and visitors. I think this new location kept quite a few of the tourist visitors, who

Johnnie Walker, Radio 2 presenter and all round biker fan mentioned the Blackpool Illuminations Goldwing Light Parade at 9:09 am today on his show. Thank you to the winger from Kidderminster who got it mentioned for us. Its amazing, go through proper press release channels and nothing happens.  For all those travelling tomorrow, take it easy and get there safe. There are no roadworks or any problems reported in and around the approach routes to Pontin’s. See you all later.

Friday nights "best light bike" competition

Friday nights "best light bike" competition

The organisation of the Light Parade for 2009 has proved to be the most complicated to date. I wont bore you with the detail but it was certainly an uphill climb for those involved.  Thankfully everything is now in place from the accomodation, entertainment, police and the light parade on the Saturday night itself.

Watch out for the filter lane and entrance to the static display area on the Saturday morning, apart from that it looks like being a great weekend.
The team look forward to welcoming  you all to Blackpool.

Detail shape’s Light Parade

Light Parade 2006

Light Parade 2006

The final details are now taking shape nicely for this years Blackpool light parade. We have had to manage quite a few problems this year but most of the major hurdles are now sorted. We had positive news from the Police that they can provide us with a Green Light at Squires Gate Traffic lights and also some cover at Gynn Square at the opposite end of the promenade,.  The evening’s entertainment at Pontins promises to be spectacular with plenty of Pontins glamour, plus we will have Knutsford Honda in attendance over the weekend. Lots of other minor stuff to pull together but you couldn’t ask for much more.

The team are really looking forward to welcoming you all to Blackpool again this year. It’s going to be a great weekend
