GoldWing Light Parade Venue Announced

The Organisers of the Blackpool GoldWing Light Parade have announced the new venue for the Event which is to be a whole Crescent of Hotels and Apartments on South Shore Promenade. All the participating Hotels are offering discounted accommodation and bar prices and they are coordinating their entertainment programmes over the weekend to suit the Event too. Blackpool Light Parade – Saturday September 4th 2010

The Eighth Annual Blackpool Illuminations GoldWing Light Parade will run on Saturday September 4th 2010 as part of a residential weekend of biking and social activities.  Accommodation for the 2010 Light Parade is available in a group of hotels, B&Bs and apartments along and near to Warwick Crescent on South Shore Promenade. It was great to see everyone at the October meeting, especially Dave Baylis who’s back after a medical procedure. The nice surprise was three new applicants signed up for membership, plus we had a Goldwing owner interested in the club and a visitor who turned up on the spur of the moment. I’m sorry if I don’t mention all your names here  but welcome to Goldwings North West. You caught us with a very busy meeting with lots of reports to get through. It’s not normally that intense. For those who joined and had their photo’s captured, have a look in the members section, you’ll be amongst good company. If you didn’t join the club today, I trust you enjoyed the meeting and had a taste of what the club is about, your welcome to download the application form and send it to the secretary at any time.

Island Classic Vehicle event 2009 Lytham St Annes.

Eureka, I have found it.

The very first visit to the Island Classic Vehicle event turned out to be a really good day. The highlite was just as we left the Swallow Hotel at the start of the run. Ted immediately left the pack and pulled up on the side of the road. Luckily Bill informed us on the CB that Ted had a problem, almost instantly he was back on the air telling us all was well and we carried on to Lytham St Annes. It wasn’t until half way through the day Ted was spotted brandishing a lump of twisted scrap metal and proudly telling everyone he had found it. I would have kept that quiet myself but anyway turns out the piece of junk was something that had fallen off his bike on the previous run out and Ted seeing it fall away said

Taking it easy Goldwing Style

GoldWings North West is a club for Honda GoldWing motorcycle owners in Central Lancashire and the surrounding areas. The Club welcomes GoldWing owners and riders and those who are interested in maybe one day owning and riding a Honda GoldWing. We meet on the last Sunday of the month at the Norman Jepson Hotel, close to Junction 31a of the M6, so we’re easily accessible and handily placed for the wonderful biking roads and scenery of the Lancashire fells and the Bowland Forest. If you own a GoldWing, or are interested in GoldWings and would like to meet like-minded and friendly people, then please come along to our next meeting, you will be made most welcome.

Well that was a good day. The meeting in the morning went well, good turn out as usual and an opportunity to chat with some of Lancs & Lakes members in the car park who were on a run out today. Good to see Garry & Joyce back in the fold and also Tony and Christine Frost back with us. Whose idea was it to go to Southport Air show after the meeting? After leaving the Swallow at 11:10 it took over 2 hours through traffic to get to Southport. It was worth it after all the messing about. The solo’s went ahead and arrived in plenty of time to see the Red Arrows doing their stuff whilst the combinations and their escort

Goldwings gather at Kirkby

From the number of post’s submitted about this weekend I would say a good day was had by all. However, two hours before the start of the bar b cue on Saturday the weather was absolutely atrocious. The rain was being driven sidewards and the marquee was being battered and held down by soggy volunteers. For some reason most of the members had decided to take a walk into Kirkby Lonsdale for a quick look round. We were very lucky

Help for Heroes

Hi all.
What can I say? 19 bikes turned up for this worthy charity. And four members from, Goldwings North Wales, brilliant. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you all then they just kept arriving, one or two got lost but made it in the end. What a splendid sight all 19 Goldwings, Frank leading us down the wrong road,(I have to say, I did tell him to turn right) the locals must have wondered what was going on with us riding round their estate.

The final details are now taking shape nicely for this years Blackpool light parade. We have had to manage quite a few problems this year but most of the major hurdles are now sorted. We had positive news from the Police that they can provide us with a Green Light at Squires Gate Traffic lights and also some cover at Gynn Square at the opposite end of the promenade,.  The evening’s entertainment at Pontins promises to be spectacular with plenty of Pontins glamour, plus we will have Knutsford Honda in attendance over the weekend. Lots of other minor stuff to pull together but you couldn’t ask for much more.

The team are really looking forward to welcoming you all to Blackpool again this year. It’s going to be a great weekend
