Christmas Party – Ideas!

winter-xmas.jpgAs the whole country is suffering the blistering heat wave our minds start to wander to times of cooler weather. The best time for cooler weather is Christmas : not that far away really, its only 13 weeks away! So we must put some thoughts together at what the members would like to do for a Christmas Dinner Dance. Due to being a club in infancy our

Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes

Hi all.
What can I say? 19 bikes turned up for this worthy charity. And four members from, Goldwings North Wales, brilliant. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you all then they just kept arriving, one or two got lost but made it in the end. What a splendid sight all 19 Goldwings, Frank leading us down the wrong road,(I have to say, I did tell him to turn right) the locals must have wondered what was going on with us riding round their estate.

Changes to monthly meeting date – Last Sunday in Month

Julys meeting was quite a long winded affair with lots of business to get through. The most important being the change of our monthly meetings from the first Sunday in the month to the Last Sunday in the Month. This was prompted by the fact that we attend 5 events during the summer which clash with

Longridge Field Day – 13 June

dscf4090.jpgThe morning of the 13th dawned dry and promising, and so eight bikes assembled at the Swallow Hotel for the run into Longridge. It was not only great to see Graham and Jacci with their Flamin’ Orange trike (which sadly went to Chipping, but couldn’t come out to play because of the horrendous conditions), but also Ted, one of our newest members and his friend on a very interesting Yamaha. On arrival at the meet point, priorities

Tropical World Leeds – Run out May 31st

tropical-world-30.jpg

May 31st run out to Tropical World Leeds.
Well the weather certainly behaved itself for the run out. It was gloriously hot on the run over to Leeds; Bill Squires suggested it was as good as being abroad. Sat Nav did the usual and took us around the back streets of Leeds and we got stuck in a

Sunday Dinner Run Out 26 April

sunday-lunch-run-5.jpgIt was a bright sunny day as six goldwings and a trike, set out from The Swallow Hotel, the home of Goldwings North West.
Onward up the A59, bypassing Clitheroe and Skipton only to turn into the Dales at Bolton Abbey, we turned into the abbey grounds, so a group photo could be taken But the man in the hut wanted money, so we rode straight out and onward into the

Frank (never been to a meeting) Goodman’s mystery tour

chipping-1.jpgFrank  Goodman will be leading a mystery tour around the famous sites and destinations known only to him. Leaving from the Swallow Hotel at 9:30 am. A full tank of petrol would be really useful.

Blackpool Ridesafe Rendezvous 19 April

blackpoolridesafe013.jpgThe weather could not have been better for the Ridesafe Rendezvous this year, and I think the move to St Chads was a great idea. I wonder what prompted them to hold a bike event on St Chads headland? The large area on the promenade provided the opportunity to hold the bike stunt displays, stage, and vendor stalls in close proximity to the visitors, which made everything easier to find without missing

Blackpool Classic Bike Show

rides06112307.jpgA Mark Woodward indoor classic bike show held at the Norbreck Castle Hotel Exhibition Centre. We attended this show last year and had a really good day, lots to see and do with the facilities of the hotel as well. Bit different as all the bikes are inside the building. Usual good turnout from the public.  Anyone interested in attending this show please leave a comment and let Pete know. Leaving from the Swallow Hotel at 9:00 am

Steve Fox reports on his Run Out – 4 April

fox-2.jpgCalderstone’s Yorkshire Dales ride out – 4th Apr 2009
Firstly apologies for not being able to submit this post report early due to work commitments so here goes:
The weather on Saturday morning at 9am was how I can put it “changeable!”, and therefore myself and my partner’s 14 year old daughter “Heaven” prepared by

Social Night – Grimsargh Club 6 March

gsn-28.jpgWhat a good social night Friday at Grimsargh club turned out to be. Really pleased to see so many members taking the trouble to come along and get to meet each other. I think everyone had a good time. Raffle was ably organised by Bill Squires, thats a first for Bill, with the quiz rounds put together by Bob and Judy. The picture rounds certainly had a
